Constant Float is a private, once-a-day note. It's built on restraint — no feed, no audience, no performance — and that extends to your data. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the Constant Float iOS app and this website, operated by SoriStory LLC ("we," "us").
The short version
- Your reflections are private to you. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and your notes are never posted, shared, or shown to anyone else.
- To write your daily signal and Constants replies, the text you provide is sent to our AI provider (Google) to generate a response.
- You can read, edit, and delete your notes, and delete your account, at any time.
What we collect
What you write
Your daily reflections and private notes, and the messages you send to Constants (the in-app assistant). This is the heart of the app and it belongs to you.
Your profile
The optional profile details you provide (such as role, industry, stage, current focus, and concern) so the signal can be relevant to your life.
Account & technical data
An anonymous account identifier (via Firebase Authentication) used to associate your data with your device — no name or email is required to use the app. We also process basic technical data needed to operate the service (e.g., app version, error logs, and subscription status from Apple).
How we use it
- To generate your daily signal and Constants replies that reflect what you've written.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the app.
- To manage subscriptions and respond to support requests.
We do not use your personal content for advertising, and we do not sell it.
AI processing
To produce your signal and chat replies, the text you provide is sent to our AI provider, Google (the Gemini API / Google Cloud Vertex AI), which processes it to generate a response. Under Google Cloud's data terms, your content is not used to train Google's foundation models, and we do not use your content to train any models of our own.
How it's shared
We don't sell or share your personal content. We rely on a small set of service providers who process data only to run the app:
- Google — AI generation (Gemini / Vertex AI), app infrastructure, anonymous authentication, and hosting (Firebase / Google Cloud).
- Apple — App Store distribution and subscription billing.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
Storage & retention
Your notes are stored on your device and in our backend so they're available to you across sessions. We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete a note it is removed, and when you delete your account we delete your associated data, except where we must retain limited records for legal or security reasons.
Your choices & rights
- Read, edit, and delete your notes at any time in the app.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Depending on where you live (e.g., the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To make a request, contact us below.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but privacy is a core design goal, not an afterthought.
Children
Constant Float is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll post the new version here and update the date above; material changes will be surfaced in the app.
